CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA
There’s no better place in the South to feast on oysters and sip on rosé than Charleston, where the restaurant scene is off the charts and new hotels like The Dewberry, Grand Bohemian and The Spectator make this lowcountry locale a desirable destination.
The newest hotel to hit the shores of Miami Beach has made quite a splash in the luxury hotel world. The Faena Hotel, which opened its doors last December, has been described as “ultra luxury.” The hotel calls its lobby the “Cathedral,” and each floor has its own butler. And it doesn’t end there; Alan Faena, the property’s developer, is expanding the area into the Faena District, bringing a neighborhood of arts, culture, cuisine and entertainment back to Mid-Beach Miami. We want to check out all this new property has to offer, as well as hit up some of our classic Miami favorites. We’ll report back in our Miami City Guide!
THE CALIFORNIA COAST
We aren’t even halfway through June, and temps in the South have already hit 90+ degrees. By mid to late summer, we’ll be more than ready to escape the thick, humid air and a trip to the West Coast and a long drive down Highway 1 (with plenty of pit-stops along the way) might just be the way to do it.
HARBOUR ISLAND, BAHAMAS
Come to think of it, we’d like to find ourselves on an island surrounded by water where we can really unplug. A three-mile pink sand beach in the Out Islands doesn’t sound to shabby. BRB going to book plane ticket now.
