A delicious cocktail recipe from Lonesome Dove Western Bistro in Knoxville.

The first time we tasted the 1888 cocktail at Chef Tim Love‘s Lonesome Dove Western Bistro in Knoxville, we described it like this: “it’s like today’s modern woman, pretty and feminine on the outside, strong, bold and a little fiery on the inside.” Which seems ironically relevant, now, with the recent Women’s March and everything that’s going on with the women’s movement in this country. But to keep from getting all political up in here on a #ThirstyThursday, let’s focus on the subject at hand – the 1888.

Knowing we would need a little lesson in mixology before we were able to whip this up at home, we tapped Lonesome Dove Knoxville’s head bartender, Palmer Mason, to show us how it’s done. And below, we’re sharing our newly-learned knowledge with you.
