THE PACKING LIST: 2 DAYS IN NYC – APRIL 2017

By 04.28.17. No Comments
What to pack for two nights in NYC during spring.

I just returned home from a quick trip to NYC (which you probably know if you follow @thehollyday_ on Instagram). As I was packing the night before I left (because, procrastination), I checked the weather which was forecasting chilly temps and lots of rain, so I had to re-think my packing list at the last minute. (Why is it that I can never remember what temperature in the 50s feels like? Too cold for sandals? Too warm for boots?🤷🏻‍♀️) Anyways, below is a list of everything I packed for this quick jaunt to the Big Apple.

The night I arrived, I had a cocktail hour event to attend at the Fohr Card office in Soho. I wore this monochromatic top and skirt from Vince, with these shoes by Aquazzura which are suprisingly comfortable, even for walking around in the city. I threw on my trench (which pretty much comes with me anytime I travel unless it’s to somewhere south of the equator) and was out the door.

The next day, I attended an all-day conference with Fohr Card at Blank Studio, and wore this dress by DVF paired with these Saint Laurent sneakers for comfort, and this suede jacket. I love this dress for its versatility… I plan to pack it for my trip to Miami next month to wear out at night with heels and some fun jewelry.

Since my schedule was pretty packed, I didn’t have much time to bounce around the city as I would have liked, but I did enjoy a delicious dinner at Barbuto in the West Village, and finallly got to try Rubirosa (been on my list forever). I ordered a small pasta dish which was so good. I didn’t order a pizza (what they’re known for) because I was afraid I would eat the whole thing. In one sitting. By myself. (Did I mention I’m going to Miami next month?) But they looked so good I was practically drooling over my neighbor’s at the bar. Definitely going to order one next time.
