TRAVEL ESSENTIAL: THE BEST HATS FOR FALL & WINTER

By 11.04.17. No Comments
How to wear a beret.

There’s no better accessory than a hat to complete a look in my opinion. I love a hat. I also love a good French girl moment as much as the next basic b*tch, so I picked up this beret from Urban Outfitters the other day partly because of my adoration of the aforementioned (cliché) French girl style, and partly just to see whether I could pull it off. (The verdict is still out, but I kind of like it.) To keep things understated and not too costume-y, I wore it with this (incredibly soft) Vince sweater that I recently got at my fav local boutique, Obligato, and jeans and black over-the-knee boots. Though I may or may not be wearing it correctly (it looks kind of like a mushroom), I think I’ll pack it for my trip to NYC next month and give it another go.

Aside from the beret, I’ve linked to some of my other favorite hats below. The classic fedora looks good on everyone, and will never go out of style. I’ve yet to try the newsboy cap, but I love the way my friend Courtney (who is much more stylish than I) pulls it off here. And then there’s the functional yet still fashionable beanie. I love this one by Acne for a casual look in the winter. (Plus, you can get away with not fixing your hair, which is always a win.)
