We know we’re not alone when we say that thanks to the cold, drying temps, our skin needs some saving in the winter, so we scoured the beauty aisles to find the best products to breathe life back into our faces this time of year. Below are our favorites for keeping our skin pretty and glowing all year round.
A good moisturizer is obviously key to keeping your skin hydrated during these cold months. Don’t forget (!) to still use one with SPF for daytime, even on overcast days. For nighttime, try a lightweight but hydrating cream like Mario Badescu’s Seaweed Night Cream, packed with vitamins, minerals, collagen and Hyaluronic acid to cure dehydration. If your skin is super dry and irritated due to harsh weather, you can’t go wrong with First Aid Beauty’s Ultra Repair Cream.
Scrub away dull skin a few times a week with an exfoliator. This Pumpkin Enzyme Mask by Peter Thomas Roth resurfaces, peels and polishes revealing more radiant skin, not to mention it smells good enough to eat. (But please don’t.)
A serum is something we sometimes forget to incorporate into our routine, but lately we’ve been using Good Genes Lactic Acid Treatment by Sunday Riley, and we’re hooked. It plumps, brightens, corrects uneven skin tone and restores damage. Check, check, check. We put it on in the mornings before our moisturizer, but it can even be used as a mask, which we can’t wait to try. We also love anything by Kate Somerville, like her Quench Hydrating Serum which locks in moisture and brightens with Vitamin A.
Face oils are key to adding extra moisture to your winter skincare routine. Add a drop to your daily moisturizer, or apply a few drops at night before bed. We love changing it up between Sunday Riley’s Juno Hydroactive Cellular Face Oil full of antioxidants and superfoods, Seaberry Moisturizing Facial Oil by Fresh, and La Mer’s The Renewal Oil.
