No matter whether you’re #WithHer or you’re on #TeamTrump, we’re all likely to need some form of self-medication tonight, as the results of one of the most contested elections in history roll in and the next POTUS is revealed. And no matter which side of the aisle you’re on, the one thing on which we can probably all agree is that everyone will be glad when this election is O-V-E-R. That’s reason enough to celebrate. But in order to avoid stress-eating a pint of Ben and Jerry’s or reaching for your Xanax, we’ve come up with a few ways to help you calm your Election Day anxiety. If anyone needs us tonight we’ll be at home, partaking in all of the below.
YOGA + MEDITATION
There’s no better way to release stress and tension in the body than with some basic yoga and meditation. Poses like child’s pose, butterfly and savasana will relax beginners and yogis alike. POUR YOURSELF A GLASS OF RED WINE
It’s no new revelation that a glass of wine (or two) can help take the edge off. Red wine contains antioxidants, and research shows it may even be good for your heart. Cheers to that. And hey… everyone is feeling the heat tonight. No one will judge your heavy pour.
TAKE A BATH
Melt away your stress with a relaxing bath. Combine it with the aforementioned glass of 🍷 for an ultra-calming experience. Light a candle, turn down the lights and put on some relaxing music. PERMANENT INTERNATIONAL VACATION
