The best beauty products for the beach.

Before I left for the islands last week, I got some new products that I had been wanting to try out (pretty sure I’m the last person on the planet to jump on the Glossier train but nonetheless). I always like to give my skincare and makeup a refresh around this time of year to give it a little boost toward getting that summer glow (every little bit helps when you’re normally stuck in an office 40+ hours a week). Below are the products I’ve been using and loving, especially ones that were perfect for my trip to the beach.

Glossier Priming Moisturizer.  I’d been needing a new moisturizer, and the description of this one fit the bill. I used it day and night in the hot Anguilla heat and it was the perfect lightweight moisturizer to prime my skin and creating light but dewy finish. I know I’ll be using it all summer.

Glossier Cloud Paint.  As much as I wish I could go au natural in the summer sans makeup, I’m just not that genetically blessed. But I can attempt to achieve that look by wearing the least amount of makeup necessary. That’s where Cloud Paint comes in. It’s one of Glossier’s newer products and it gives your cheeks just enough color so that they look naturally pinched. It goes on light, build-able and most importantly, not cake-y. I bought it in “Dusk” and it gives my cheeks a bronzy, sun-kissed look.

Glossier Generation G. You may have seen me raving about this lip color on Insta-stories a few weeks ago (@thehollyday_). Well, I’m still raving. Apply a swipe during daytime for a light layer of balm-like color, and add a coupe layers at night for a more dramatic look. I’ve been using the color “Zip,” and I just ordered it in “Cake.”

Tom Ford Soleil Blanc Shimmering Body Oil.  I was in Bloomingdales in Soho last February when I first laid eyes on this shimmery product at the Tom Ford counter. I tested it out with a little spray on my arm and imagined how nice it would look on bronzed skin this summer.  I finally used it once I got a little bit of color in Anguilla and I’ve come to love it. It smells amazing – Soleil Blanc is one of Tom Ford’s best-selling scents, and it goes on light and dry so you don’t look like you just doused yourself in oil and rolled in glitter. I promise.

Tom Ford Ultra-Rich Lip Color. TomFord’s lipsticks are buttery-soft and feel super moisturizing. I love this bronze color, “Temptation Waits,” for summer. It’s a nice change up from my usual summer brights and goes great with a tan.

Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray. I am obsessed with this product. It works similar to a dry shampoo but I love to use it on my roots for a little bit of tousled volume. It especially works great in the summer when coifs can get a little unruly.

Oribe Impermeable Anti-Humidity Spray. Things wouldn’t have been pretty if I didn’t have this with me while in hot and humid Anguilla. Thanks to Oribe, my hair withstood the humidity instead of frizzing up like I’d stuck my finger in an electrical socket.

Neulash Lash Enhancing Serum. I actually started using this product in February, and my lashes have grown like weeds! I have used other eyelash growth products before but this one is my favorite. I noticed at the beach when I went mostly makeup-free that my lengthened lashes look much fuller and were longer even sans mascara. Perfect for summer when my makeup is often minimal.
